What I like about teaching
The fact that I was able to combine my passion for English with work. What gives me the greates job satisfaction is when I manage to pass some of that passion on to my students and when they achieve what they've been working on. I also love the fun we have in class.
My advice to students of English
Obviously, to choose a good language school :-) But in your free time you should start doing whatever you like doing in ENGLISH! Change your phone and FB to English, start reading English books only (simplified ones at first but not bilingual), watch movies in English (maybe with English subtitles but not Czech ones), look for English speaking friends online or at live events. That way you're going to learn English while having fun - and that's the best way :-)
Three things I like
Italian food, cats, everybody in my (extended) family, American English
My favourite English word
My favourite word is "deteriorating". It's not a very nice word but I just love the sound of it... the way the vowels and consanants alternate and change - it's like a little piece of music..
My favourite Czech word
I'm afraid I don't have a favourite Czech word :-( I have words I don't like, though, such as "plonk" (used in card games when talking about having only one card of a particular suit. No idea why I don't like it. Some sound reasons again, maybe).
Something special about me
My parents, who I'm very proud of, emigrated to Austria for political reasons when I was only four. It must have been very hard for them. I grew up in Vienna, away from the communist dogma, and I received an excellent education and a quite different worldview. I'm very thankful for that.
What I like most about P.A.R.K.
I probably like the people and their professionalism the most. There's nothing better than working with people who take what you love seriously (while still having fun).
